An Unexpected Great Referral

Wayne Lee Headshot

Well our "net" has been down for a few days...something was not talking to some other thing that makes all the things talk so I can send post this. I do not know what all this stuff does; so thank God it usually just do what it do...LOL.

Let me see if I can bring you up to speed from the down time; we went to look at two jobs and, yay, we got them both, so March is full and we are now starting to book into April.

We did the tile job in Mansfield and truth be told I just am not happy with it. The subfloor was 5/8 inch low, then just 3 feet away the main beam it was up 1/2 inch and to the far left of the room was that concrete step we had to repair. (I took the photos of it and posted it last week.) We filled the low spot with self-leveler and did our best to make it flat, but it is just so bad that I do not know. I will wait to see what the folks say ... hope it is good news.

I went back to final-review the maple stain job and they love it still. When the stairs get installed we will go back and sand & finish them. The rod-iron man wants to come and also do his thing at the same time, but I told them we need to seal and get one coat on before he does any welding. He does not understand that hot welds will hurt the wood and finish. I am not sure why they cannot build them outside rather then fab them on the step.

I have to get wood for a repair job, it is 4-inch but the wood is messed up so I am getting 5-inch and going to cut it to fit. I do not like to do that, but this is a tough job to get right, it is going to be a bunch of work to make it look right. I think I can, I think I can…

We got a feel-good today: A builder we did work with a year or so ago and did not blend well with (as in, we had words over his work that made our work a bunch harder), well, he gave us a great referral. I did not think we would ever work with him again, but doing our best paid off.

I am so OCD about the work and how it all should look that it makes me nuts when it does not go the way I want it. Like the tile job… it just makes me go nuts. But, when a job comes along and you hear things like that, it just feels good.

Well that brings my few days off-line back up to speed; I am not sure what else to say other than we are so happy to be getting work.
