Hope It's All Good in Algood

Wayne Lee Headshot

It was a rain-filled day; I had to do all my cutting in the back bedroom and the dust is all over. I did get a surprise: Nash came over and helped nail down a few rows before he had to do his homework. His little brother Seth, who is in preschool, came with him, and he just had to hit the nail gun. Now that makes one nervous-his aim is just a bit off and my leg was not that far away. LOL, it was funny, and he had a ball.

The subfloor next to a set of stairs going down to the basement had a 3/4 drop off in 10 inches and we have to tie in a stair nosing, so we took plywood to build it all up and then sanded it all flat with the plywood all around it. That took about an hour because I had to rip out the old steps and then make them work on a temporary basis; they are coming out in part three of the remodel.

I'm off in the morning to Algood, Tenn., to help with a floor sander they said is leaving side cuts - a 4-hour drive. Wish me luck. Again, it is an honor to be asked to work with your peers; I hope we can share the who, what, where and how they do it, should be fun. They mail order supplies like we have to, so I am looking forward to seeing the things they do.
