It Is Good to be King... But I'll Pay

Wayne Lee Headshot

I made it! A full day not getting sick and run down...thank God.

I took the high road today, as the old saying goes, it is good to be the king … so I took the easy work all day. We needed to trowel-fill the floor the rooms that were sanded to 60 grit, about 600 feet, then 40- and 60-cut about 700 feet so the we can move forward in the morning. I did all that and had the guys do the rest of the tile cleanup  when they were done with the wet saws. I was lazy today... forgive me guys, it was the flu.

Anyway, we got the 1,300 feet rough cut and ready to edge. I put in the ear radio and just went brain-dead behind the big machine. The trowel-fill was fast and simple, like I said, it was half the job; now I am in the man chair with my feet up getting ready to hit the rain locker, then right to bed. I do not think the guys will let me lay down tomorrow; I will have to edge the second floor and make up for the gift I got today. Thanks, guys...

The good news for the week is the tile will be done tomorrow and we can see the end in sight on this job. We have been here for four weeks, tile to wood, and now to sand and finish. I will be glad to move to the next job. Sometimes it gets old to keep working on the same job site. Anyone else get that feeling?

Oh well, I best hit the rack and get some rest, they are going to bust my chops all day tomorrow. One day sick and picking the easy work will only get the weak-sister award all day.
