Looking at Lead Certification

Wayne Lee Headshot

Well we had a day off today because my oldest child had her gallbladder removed. I have got to say it is not fun as a dad when your babies hurt and you can do nothing about it. They used the air/gas thing to do it with only four small incisions, and the gas is giving her more pain than anything ... wish I could take her pain.

The first of the year looks like we will have a few small jobs but nothing to blow the doors off; I did do an estimate on a 1920 remodel, but this job is in the city of Paris, Tenn., and we have to be lead-certified to take on the job. I am going to the class before the end of the month so we can do the work. To my knowledge we will be the only one in the area to be certified to take on the job. I asked the EPA guy why flooring folks have to be certified. He said it isn't because of the finish; it is because the stain back in the day did have lead and that is why sanding contractors need the certification. HEPA filters is mainly what it comes down to, but after the class we should know more.
