The Finish Laid Down

Wayne Lee Headshot

The finish job from last week-the one I just knew we would have to recoat-it laid down, thank God. I got a text from the homeowner that they love the floors and are very happy with the job. I also got a call Saturday that the back door leaked from the hard rain we had last week. My best advice was get the door fixed and then just sit and wait before we do anything so we see what the wood will do.

It's Monday and we are rained out... we have to install Dura Rock but cannot cut inside, so we are going to hold off for the day. I do not want to start a new job just to pull off in one day.

Our fuel price went up 20 cents in one week-man, what can you do? I do not understand how all this falls in to place, but what has been going on in the Middle East sure hit us fast.

This week I am going to try to get two jobs done, even with the lost day. We have to do a punch list at the Camden job and get the tile done so can start the wood on the job in Mansfield. We should be able to get it done.

Here are my concerns for the next few weeks: folks getting tight with the money because of the fuel price and the vendors kicking the price up for supplies. It seems like they always kick prices up to cover all that, but when the fuel prices come down they do not lower the price… ever. Oh well, time will tell the story.
