Working for an Icon

Wayne Lee Headshot

Now we are talking...60 degrees today! I hope it is not just a joke, okay we understand that it will get cold again but please, no more snow. This week started slow because I have the flu; it's the first time this year and let's hope it is the last.

Mr. Stan Lawson has asked us to come work for him in Mississippi. It's a long way to go, but we will because he is a super guy. I am going to call in a friend...Boone. I think he will enjoy this job because Mr. Stan and Daniel go way back. I do not know how many training classes Mr. Stan has done over the years, but we can safely say more than few. From NOFMA classes to NWFA training, he was an icon in the schools. I hate to see some of the leaders retire, but they get to enjoy life and the hard work they have put in.

We have to get the 1,300-foot maple job done this week and start a new tile/wood job in Mansfield, Tenn. The flu is not helping me out, but when you are the owner you have to work through some of those days. Yesterday I came home, fell asleep in the chair, and woke up at 3:30 pm… I had sat down at 11:30. Not good, but Jeff and Joey were still working, so they got stuff done while I laid down.

Well I need to hit the road and see if I can make it a few hours. The chair is calling me again, and if I stay here I might give in.
