When the installer gets the call to come back to the job site to complete a board replacement, he should have the skill sets to complete it successfully. Here is a repair of a prefinished floor; look closely where the installer made his cut joint:
… in the middle of the plank. This is a good way to have a customer call in for wood floor inspection. To avoid this, make sure you leave a full carton of flooring behind (including all the sizes that typically come in the box), or order a new one to complete the repair. Then find the appropriate length to make necessary repairs.
One additional note: Once a customer calls the inspector for a workmanship-related concern, the whole project will now go under the microscope.
