3M CEO Quit President Trump’s Manufacturing Advisory Council

3M (Saint Paul, Minn.) CEO Inge Thulin resigned from President Donald Trump’s Manufacturing Advisory Council on Aug. 16, an hour before Trump shut the council down in a tweet.

Inge said in a statement that he joined the Manufacturing Jobs Initiative to advocate for policies that align with 3M’s values and encourage job growth—all with the overarching goal of making the United States stronger.

“After careful consideration, I believe the initiative is no longer an effective vehicle for 3M to advance these goals,” he said, adding that 3M will “continue to champion an environment that supports sustainability, diversity and inclusion.”
