Bona (Malmö, Sweden) released its 2019 Sustainability Report, in which it introduced its “Home, Health, Humanity” strategy for sustainability.
In the structure, “home” relates to environmental endeavors “as far reaching as our global home to the homes in which we live, the company said; “health” focuses on the health of the business and those who interact with Bona and its products; and “humanity” is the company’s commitment to giving back to communities.
“Sustainability is a multi-faceted commitment,” Bona Global Environmental Manager Björn Johansson stated. “We must look at the full picture of where we can make a difference and implement smart plans and protocols to make it happen.”
Milestones listed in the 2019 report include expanding its eLearning platform, which the company says inherently lessens its carbon footprint, and obtaining Green Seal certification of Bona SuperCourt OPTUM waterborne athletic wood floor finish. Bona also installed 1,515 square meters of solar panels at its production facility in Malmö, Sweden, during the year.
Bona added new goals to its report, including a commitment to educate and increase dust containment systems in the market, as well as to audit its raw materials process more often to “ensure Bona and its suppliers are leveraging the most innovative materials.”
