Facing the ongoing challenges of stiff competition, misleading campaigns and the U.S. trade war with China, a number of U.S. hardwood industry organizations have formed the American Hardwood Promotion Coalition to help promote the U.S. hardwood industry.
“It was agreed upon by all to move forward in a way that is open, and engages all members of the hardwood community,” according to a press release shared by the Hardwood Manufacturers Association.
The coalition has proposed uniting different segments of the industry to assess current marketing resources, as well as identify university architecture and design school courses and competitions related to the use of hardwood to identify potential curriculum ideas.
The coalition formed an Action Team and an Advisory Committee. The Action Team will draft communication materials to be shared throughout the industry and make sure deadlines are met. The Advisory Committee will “operate as the watchful industry eye,” according to the press release. The Action Team will report to the Advisory Committee.
