Houzz: Kitchen Renovations See Decline in Solid Hardwood Installations

The Houzz 2019 Kitchen Trends Study found the use of solid hardwood flooring in kitchen renovations declined to 24 percent, down from 32 percent and 30 percent in 2017 and 2018 studies, respectively.

Engineered flooring, including wood, vinyl and laminate, was used in 40 percent of renovations during the year, according to the report.

Among homeowners who renovated kitchens over the year, 69 percent included updates to the flooring.
