Mannington to Invest $42 Million in Georgia Plant Expansion

Mannington Mills Inc. (Salem, N.J.) will expand its presence in Calhoun, Ga., with a new 78-acre site and a pledge to invest $42 million in the state by 2021.

The expansion will create more than 200 additional jobs in the company, which currently has an 800,000 square foot floor manufacturing plant in Calhoun. The two Georgia sites will be located less than a mile apart.

The announcement of the expansion came from Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal, who praised Mannington for developing more manufacturing jobs in the area.

“Mannington Mills has had a large footprint in northwest Georgia for years and I am proud to see this partnership continue,” Deal said in a statement.

Positions at the new Mannington site in Calhoun will include production, management, engineering and marketing, along with supervisory and administrative positions.

“Mannington continues to experience strong growth of its business interests in Georgia, and acquisition of this site will help us accommodate and capitalize on that growth,” Mannington President and CEO Russell Grizzle stated. “This purchase is another installment in Mannington’s ongoing long-term investment plan for Calhoun.”
