MAPEI (Deerfield Beach, Fla.) announced it now offers more than 375 products that are certified for low volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
The milestone was hit after the company completed the certification process for SCS Indoor Advantage Gold 2021. MAPEI’s low-VOC certifications now include products spanning architectural coatings, sealants, adhesives, underlayments, mats, membranes, accessories and more.
“We aimed to certify products so every project type, no matter how high or low the budget, can include healthy, sustainable products,” stated Luigi Di Geso, president and CEO of MAPEI North America. “Now, all MAPEI products that can be used on the interior of a building have achieved SCS Indoor Advantage Gold certification.”
The MAPEI products with SCS Indoor Advantage Gold certification have been vetted by an ISO-accredited, third-party certification body and tested by an industry-independent laboratory, according to MAPEI. Products with the certification qualify for multiple green-building rating systems, including LEED v4, WELL Building Standard, BREEAM, Living Building Challenge, NAHB Green Building Standard and more.
