Ouachita, the Warren, Ark.-based sister company to Maxwell Hardwood Flooring (Monticello, Ark.), purchased a LICO Ripping System to streamline the manufacturer’s ripped lumber processing capabilities.
It will allow Ouachita to produce a larger variety and volume of raw materials, diversify products, increase production and improve lead times for customers.
Once the ripping system is installed this month, Ouachita’s 180,000-square-foot facility will be “100 percent occupied,” said owners Shay Dugal and Wil Maxwell. The addition will also require more employees, and Ouachita expects to hire an additional 10–15 people.
“We have a tremendous work force and a great support system from our team at Maxwell, from the city of Warren and from our community,” said Dugal in a statement. “Our relationships with our suppliers and customers are good, and all of these factors contribute to our success and growth.”
