The North American Association of Floor Covering Distributors have released two reports analyzing the flooring industry growth rates and trends in the first quarter of 2017 and in May.
The first quarter of 2017 report shows that flooring industry growth was up 1 percent year-over-year versus the fourth quarter of 2016, which saw growth of 4 percent year-over-year. It also predicts sales growth of 8–10 percent among homebuilder flooring shipments between the first quarter of 2017 and the first quarter of 2018.
The May 2017 report shows flooring demand in the United States looks better in the past 30–60 days than it did in January or February, among other data points.
