Simpsons Actor’s Apartment Damaged by Wood Floor-Related Fire

A fire that ran through a celebrity-studded apartment complex in New York City started when rags left behind by workers from a wood flooring company caught fire, according to the NY Post.

“It was an accident,” said Jakub Jankowski, owner of A&J Wood Floors, told the Post. Hardwood Floors contacted A&J Wood Floors but did not receive a response before this article was posted.

Simpson’s voice actor Hank Azaria’s unit was damaged to the tune of $58,000. Azaria provided his voice to Moe the bartender, Apu the store clerk and Chief Wiggums.

The fire began a few floors down in actress Amy Irving’s unit. Irving was having her floors refinished by A&J.

Insurer AIG Property filed a lawsuit against A&J in Manhattan Supreme Court, the Post report said.
