Small business optimism declined 1.8 points in July on the Small Business Optimism Index, the National Federation of Independent Business reports. The Index is at a level of 98.8, near the survey’s historical average, according to NFIB.
NFIB’s Uncertainty Index jumped 7 points during the month.
“Owners continue to temper their expectations of future economic conditions as the COVID-19 public health crisis is expected to continue,” NFIB stated.
