Timber exports are surging in Vietnam, and the country’s forest industry is aiming to export $20 billion worth of products by 2025, Sai Gon Giai Phong reports.
Forest products exports jumped 18% in 2019 to $11.3 billion in Vietnam. The country is instituting new policies and strategies to meet the growing demand, according to the report.
When the trade war between U.S. and China began in 2018, industry experts anticipated a shift in wood floor manufacturing from China to Southeast Asian countries such as Vietnam and Cambodia.
