Consumers will soon be able to overlay floor coverings sold by BuildDirect (Vancouver, British Columbia) on top of the floors in their home using virtual reality.
BuildDirect partnered with roOomy, a home design studio that utilizes virtual reality, augmented reality and 3D technology to display interior design options to customers. The partnership means users will be able to test new flooring textures and make more confident purchase decisions, according to a statement from roOomy.
“Our partnership with BuildDirect expands roOomy’s core capabilities of focusing on home furnishing products to now also allow users to swap out flooring options to provide a more immersive, virtual home design experience,” said Pieter Aarts, CEO and cofounder of roOomy, in a statement.
