WFB Briefs: Chinese Wood Imports Drop; Shaw Launches Associate Scholarship Program

The value of imported wood products in China dropped 10% during the first quarter of 2019 compared with the same period in 2018, Wood Resources International LLC reports. The ongoing trade war between the U.S. and China has led to declining imports.

 

Shaw Industries (Dalton, Ga.) is introducing a $1,000 Associate Dependent Scholarship Program for 55 students of Shaw associates. Scholarships are awarded based on applicants’ academic honors and an essay submission. The program is part of Shaw’s commitment to supporting future workforce development, the company said.
