A lineup of some of the industry's best will be on hand to lead the second Extreme Wood Floors course to be held Feb. 25–March 1, 2019, at the Castlewood Corporation headquarters in Tell City, Ind.
Joining longtime industry master Howard Brickman of Brickman Consulting (Norwell, Mass.) as lead instructors will be Avedis Duvenjian and Vartan Arutyunian of Archetypal Imagery Corp. (New York) and Greg Ceglarski of Scribed Flooring (Brisbane, Australia).
Duvenjian and Arutyunian are the duo behind many famous and award-winning floors, including the mosaic crocodile (shown at top left) that took top Wood Floor of the Year honors in 2016. Archetypal is legendary in the industry for not only its stunning mosaic floors and inlays but also its advanced finishing techniques involving layering colors, creating specialized color effects and using burnishing oils. The company has won 15 Wood Floor of the Year awards.
Ceglarski is a high-end wood flooring pro (and WFB author and blogger) who has won multiple honors, including 10 awards from the Australasian Timber Wood Flooring Association, a WFB Design Award for Best Stairs and the 2017 MAPEI Best Residential Floor for the large-scale custom parquet floor with windows (shown in middle above).
Brickman is known throughout the industry as an award-winning installer, consultant, inspector and author/blogger for WFB. His most recent article was on creating the custom compass inlay floor seen at top right.
Toby Merrill from DuraSeal, Bill Cavey from Loba-Wakol, Mark Dittmer from American Sanders and Bob Goldstein from Norton Abrasives/Vermont Natural Coatings will also be teaching as manufacturer representatives.
The cost to attend the five-day school is $1,500. It is organized by the International Wood Flooring Association. To register, go here.
