To achieve it, the company turned to imported 8.25-inch-wide Nordic European white oak, creating a “Nordic elegance” for the contemporary home. The homeowner settled on a “mild gray” color for the floors, according to Everlast Sales Rep Logan Mathews.

The Everlast installation crew began by sanding the plywood seams and making sure the subfloor was level. They then began a nail-down installation with glue-assist for the prefinished floors.

“It is imperative to always glue and nail wide-plank floors,” Mathews said via email.

While new construction projects can pose headaches, the high-end installation was as smooth.

“We do our diligence and plan and account for everything,” Mathews says, noting that the builder they were working was very efficient as well.

Everlast has been a part of a number of high-end projects in its time, but Mathews says the resulting Nordic-style home was a personal favorite.

“This is my dream house if I hit the lottery,” he says. “Just so simple and clean-looking.”
