Autumn is here, and as we barrel toward gap season, we asked wood floor pros to take a moment to share their favorite projects completed this past summer. It was by no means an ordinary summer, but as reader submissions demonstrated, creative wood flooring work around the world persisted.

Aaron Sheaves shared this rift-and-quartered white oak project completed in a Staunton house built in 1901.

Alex Daigle’s 2¼-inch select red oak with Brazilian cherry borders was completed in Glastonbury, Conn.
Spartan Hardwood Floors and Interiors | Calgary, Alberta
Wood floor pros Lars Frohnsdorf and Athanasios Tsaprailis teamed up for this rhombus pattern red oak floor. They cut, installed and sanded the project in Calgary.

Bill Bagley shared this massive renovation of a 120-year-old lake home in Lake Leelanau, Mich. The project involved restoring 3,000 square feet of beech and installing an additional 4,000 square feet of 7-inch rustic white oak. “Serious creativity required,” he says. “Loving it, but tired!”
