"It's amazing some of the things you see," says Jay Grande of Artisan Flooring in the Toronto area. This floor is certainly one of those amazing things. He explains: "This was a really strange job. I've sanded and replaced almost every floor in this co-op complex, but this one had been occupied for years by the same lady, so it had never been worked on. When she moved out, they finally got in to inspect. The floor had been sanded so many times the grooves were all cracked and the tongues exposed. To protect her toes from slivers, she placed packing tape over the entire floor. Management wanted me to remove the tape and try to get one more sanding out of it—they have a limited budget. I quickly talked them out of that and into putting a new prefinished floor in. It looks fantastic now, and the new resident loves the new floor."
