Calendar time!

As I think everyone knows, Surfaces is next week. I’ll be wandering the floor—if you spot me, please say hello! And remember, this year the NAHB Builder’s Show is in Vegas next week as well, so if you have some free time, you might want to wander over there, as well.

Here are a few other shows that might be of interest to readers, and please, feel free to post additional show links. And I’ll try to give you a head’s up of additional ones later in the year as well. But for the first half of the year, consider attending:

The IWPA Convention is March 18-20 for those who can’t get enough of Vegas….

Domotex China is at the usual time in Shanghai—March 24-26.

The NWFA Expo meets April 28-May 1 in NWFA's hometown, St. Louis, to celebrate the association's 30th anniversary. This is going to be a party you won’t want to miss!

The AIA (American Institute of Architects) meets in Atlanta May 14-16.

Elizabeth Baldwin has over 20 years of international wood sourcing experience. Very widely traveled, her résumé's "Special Skills" section includes "the ability to eat anything from raw horse to deep-fried scorpion." She serves as Metropolitan Hardwood Flooring's (metrofloors.com) ECO (Environmental Compliance Officer) and deals daily with the "green alphabet soup" of today's industry: FSC, CARB, LEED, and much more. She blogs for Hardwood Floors on all things green (and, as she says, " 'grey' and 'blue' and almost every color except 'black and white.' Nothing in this world is black and white, particularly not 'green issues.'")
