I am in Washington again for the annual Federation Fly-In. We’ve had a great turnout, and beyond hoping to do some good for the industry and get educated on the issues, it’s great to just catch up with people. Here are some of my colleagues at the Fly-In: NWFA Chairman Jeff Fairbanks, NWFA CEO Michael Martin and NWFA board member Brenda Cashion of Pinnacle Interior Elements.

I’m going to send a blog post in a bit later this week, or perhaps next Tuesday with some pics and a report on what happened … today I need to walk the Hill!

Elizabeth Baldwin has over 20 years of international wood sourcing experience. Very widely traveled, her résumé's "Special Skills" section includes "the ability to eat anything from raw horse to deep-fried scorpion." She serves as Metropolitan Hardwood Flooring's (metrofloors.com) ECO (Environmental Compliance Officer) and deals daily with the "green alphabet soup" of today's industry: FSC, CARB, LEED, and much more. She blogs for Hardwood Floors on all things green (and, as she says, " 'grey' and 'blue' and almost every color except 'black and white.' Nothing in this world is black and white, particularly not 'green issues.'")
