Ashawa Bay Hardwood Implements 8 Percent Price Increase

Ashawa Bay Hardwood Floors (Cook, Minn.), manufactured by Hill Wood Products Inc., recently announced an average price increase of 8 percent on its stock engineered hardwood flooring. The increase reflects the continuing upward trend in raw material and freight costs, the company says. Until now, Ashawa Bay's custom flooring had been able to react to rising costs on a project-by-project basis, according to Andrew Richey, Ashawa Bay's director of marketing. But stock flooring prices have not kept pace with costs, and a price adjustment was overdue.
