McWill Sport Surfaces was approached by California State University–Northridge with an unusual request: Make its indoor maple basketball court, named "The Blacktop," look like an outdoor asphalt court.
The contractor did just that, and HF readers can watch the process via a time-lapse video.
McWill used Advantage Coatings Technologies' (Louisville, Colo.) sealer and finish products.
McWill applied two coats of ACT's Sport Tone Sealer, then added gray tint to ACT's Defense two-part finish and applied it to the main floor. The contractor used a darker tint for the three-point area. After the logos and lettering were set, McWill applied two more coats of Defense.
