The United States Patent and Trademarks Office approved Alston Inc.’s (City of Industry, Calif.) patent application for the company’s “two-ply hybrid engineered wood flooring with edge beams.”
The product, already patented in China, uses a solid wood foundation with two structural balance beams on both sides. The design “eliminates the need for multiple layers of veneers and greatly reduces the amount of adhesive used to make multi-layered engineered flooring,” according to a statement from the company.
The product is duty-free and not included as part of the United States Department of Commerce’s anti-dumping case.
