Representatives from nine underlayment/substrate manufacturers sign the MOU.
Nine substrate and underlayment manufacturers have signed a memorandum of understanding that each manufacturer would include an INSTALL Substrate Prep Certified installer or an installer that has completed equal substrate and underlayment training as an option within the manufacturer’s specifications, according to INSTALL.
An underlayment or substrate installation completed by an INSTALL-or-equal installer will be eligible for an extended product warranty after manufacturer testing.
The manufacturers are: AC Tech, Ardex Americas, CMP Specialty Products/CGM Inc., MAPEI Corp., Schönox, Sika Corp., H.B. Fuller/TEC, UFloor Systems and USG.
The MOU language is:
“Acceptable to the manufacturer – installers will be experienced in performing work of this section and specialized in work similar to that required for this project; INSTALL certified or equal.”
