Family-Owned Townsend Lumber Announces Third Generation

Laura Townsend and her husband, Mike Penner, have assumed ownership of the Townsend family businesses, including Townsend Lumber, Kitchener Forest Products, Breeze Dried and BreezeWood Floors.

Townsend and Penner are taking over from Laura Townsend’s parents, David Townsend and his wife, Brenda. David’s father, Robert, founded the company 50 years ago as a traveling sawmill business. David was responsible for building the Townsend Lumber mill 30 years ago, and continued to expand the business via acquisition and new ventures, including BreezeWood Floors in 1999.

“We look forward to continuing the 50-year-old tradition of the Townsend family business and building on the business my father has established,” said Laura Townsend in a statement.
