Laguna Tools (Irvine, Calif.), a manufacturer of CNC routers and other wood product manufacturing equipment, acquired drum and brush sander manufacturer SuperMax Tools (Saint Paul, Minn.) on Sept. 18.
SuperMax Tools President Bill Schroeder described the acquisition as a win-win in a statement.
“We were looking for the right partner to help expand our sanding products and to offer a broader range of products to our customers,” Schroeder said. “Laguna Tools is clearly the leader in the industry.”
The change in ownership has not resulted in any immediate changes, and the SuperMax Tools’ management team remains in place. Dealers and customers can continue to use the company’s phone number—(651) 454-3401—as a point of contact for all SuperMax-related business.
SuperMax Tools and Laguna Tools customers will be able to combine orders once a distribution center is completed on the East Coast before year’s end.
