Ten Oaks LLC, a hardwood flooring manufacturer in Stuart, Va., has agreed to purchase a local hardwood flooring plant owned by Shaw Industries Inc. (Dalton, Ga.) that was scheduled to close at the end of 2017.
Ten Oaks originally owned the plant, which started operations in Stuart in 1982. The company sold it in 1998 to Harris-Tarkett, and Shaw purchased it in 2010. Under Shaw management, the plant employed 150 people.
“We are blessed to be able to purchase the assets of the Shaw plant and will use them to help us expand Ten Oaks’ flooring operations,” said General Manager Buddy Williams in a statement posted to the company’s Facebook page on Nov. 28. “We look forward to seeing our employees, community, customers and suppliers benefit from this expansion.”
The transaction should be completed mid-January 2018.
