Uzin Utz North America Inc. (Aurora, Colo.) has completed third-party testing of its cementitious self-leveling compounds against the requirements and criteria of the ASTM C1708 standard.
The standard’s test methods include evaluating both freshly mixed properties (such as the initial flow, flow retention, and healing time), as well as hardened properties (such as comprehensive strength, setting time and flexural strength of self-leveling mortars).
The company announced that the independent testing will become a normal part of its product development process moving forward. The independent testing was performed by Lawrenceville, Ga.-based TEC Services, which conducted a random product selection process, obtaining product samples on the open market.
“It was important for us to submit our self-leveling compounds for independent testing against one of the most credible standards in our industry, and that’s ASTM C1708,” Uzin Brand Manager Brian Preuss said in a statement. “We did this to assure our customers that they can have continued confidence in our products quality, and that they will perform as stated and as needed for their requirements.”
