Carlisle Wide Plank Floors is offering clients the option of touring their Washington D.C. showroom with a virtual guide.
Clients are able to schedule a “Remote Concierge Visit,” where clients are buzzed in at the appointed time at the showroom at 3251 Prospect Street NW. Once there, the lights come on and clients are greeted by a high-definition video screen that connects them with Peter Switzer, Carlisle’s flooring expert for the region. From Carlisle’s New Hampshire headquarters, Switzer remotely guides the client through options and answers questions.
"We're finding that the remote concierge model provides the best of both worlds—the convenience and flexibility of virtual meetings with the ability to see and touch actual floors," Switzer said in a statement.
The company has been experimenting with a remote concierge model for almost a year.
"It enables us to provide a face-to-face experience at our clients' convenience, not ours,” Carlisle President Chris Sy stated. “Technology is making it possible to deliver a highly personalized experience.”
