WFB Briefs: Amazon’s Tallest Tree At Risk; Maverick Designs Partners with BuildDirect

Brazil’s Paru State Forest in the state of Pará was the country’s fifth-most deforested conservation site in October, Mongabay reported. The forest is home to the Amazon rainforest’s tallest known tree, which stands at 290 feet, equivalent to a 30-story building. The increases in deforestation in the area has led to concern that the tree is at risk of destruction.
