U.S. Hardwood Flooring Imports Strongest Since May 2019

Hardwood flooring imports grew 10% by volume in June, recording their best month since May 2019, ITTO reported. Year-to-date, overall imports of hardwood flooring increased 41%.

The gain largely was due to imports from China more than doubling during the month, according to ITTO. Despite the surge in China imports, China imports were still down 16% year-to-date.

Imports from Malaysia dropped 47%, and imports from Indonesia fell 43%.

Imports of engineered wood flooring increased 5% due to increases in imports from Canada (31%), Indonesia (54%) and Thailand (46%). Imports of engineered wood flooring from China and Brazil fell.
