Aacer Flooring (Peshtigo, Wis.) Owner Jerry Ort, who also owns Tigerton Lumber and Wittenburg Hardwoods, is offering a $300 incentive for employees who already are vaccinated or get vaccinated.
Employees who receive or have received the COVID-19 vaccine will also be entered into a raffle to have a chance to win additional $1,000 prizes, according to the company. Nine $1,000 prizes will be drawn from the pool of fully vaccinated employees across the company’s three businesses.
Ort said he is not requiring employees to get the COVID-19 vaccine but hopes the incentive helps employees decide to receive it. Ort said he was inspired to start the incentive after his father died from COVID-19 last year.
“I just want to offer this to people to maybe help them change their mind or get them thinking about it so they get more information about it,” Ort said in a statement.
The incentive began Aug. 30 and will run until Oct. 15.
