Shaw Industries (Dalton, Ga.) recently announced layoffs at two plants in northern Georgia; however, company representatives have clarified that no workers within its wood flooring division were affected by the changes. Shaw is laying off 30 workers at its tufting and yarn processing plant in Eton, Ga., and 150 workers at its rug plant in Ringgold, Ga. Al Scruggs, human resources director of manufacturing and distribution at Shaw, said Shaw has opportunities at its other plants for affected workers.
