Pop rockers Maroon 5 will perform Oct. 5 at the Air Canada Center after the keynote address for Greenbuild 2011, which will take place Oct. 4-7 in Toronto.
"The band and I are looking forward to heading to Toronto for Greenbuild 2011," said Maroon 5's Adam Levine. "The environment is a cause that the entire band deeply cares about and we are excited to help kick off the 10th anniversary of this important event."
Author Thomas Friedman will deliver the keynote. After that, the Grammy award-winning band-with hits like "Moves Like Jagger," "Misery," "Harder to Breathe," "Wake Up Call," "She Will Be Loved," and "Sunday Morning"-will take the stage.
Green creds of Maroon 5 include going carbon neutral for its 2007 tour, performing at the Live Earth Inaugural Ball in 2009 and receiving an Environmental Media Award in 2006. The band has also taken the stage in support of Haiti, USGBC's target area of aid and sustainable development through its Project Haiti campaign.
