TW Flooring Group (Pennsauken, N.J.), formerly known as Tesoro Woods, has named Jim Claypool director of program marketing and sales, and it has launched a close-out product program dubbed COOL Flooring at www.coolflooring.com.
Before joining TW Flooring Group, Claypool worked for 20 years at distributor J.J. Haines & Co., overseeing the company's marketing and launching of private label wood flooring lines, including the Chesapeake Hardwoods brand. One of Claypool's first tasks at TW Flooring Group was helping launch COOL Flooring.
COOL stands for "close out and odd lots," and it is a web-based program that connects retailers with distributors' liquidated, overstocked or discontinued products. Ultimately, TW Flooring established the program in order to help retailers compete with flooring liquidators and big box stores. The program "provides the right tools to link [to] value-priced inventories," according to a TW Flooring press release.
