(Boca Raton, Fla.), owner of the Harris Wood Floors and Porta-Nails brands, on Tuesday announced it has acquired Imperial Industries Inc., which through its subsidiary, Premix-Marbletite Manufacturing Co., makes and distributes pool, stucco, plaster and roofing products. Also, the company announced it has purchased assets related to the Ludell brand of striking tools.

The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) announced Tuesday that a new set of Global Alternative Compliance Paths, or Global ACPs, are now available for all commercial projects pursuing LEED green building certification using the 2009 versions of the rating systems. In a release, USGBC explained that Global ACPs offer a flexible method for projects around the world to demonstrate compliance with the LEED credits that are traditionally more challenging for projects outside of the U.S.
