Responding to increasing demand, Armstrong World Industries (Lancaster, Pa.) plans to hire 145 workers at its hardwood flooring plant in Beverly, W. Va.
"The reason is we're seeing new home construction improve a bit, and since our wood flooring business is tied to new home construction, we're adding back shifts in Beverly to anticipate our customers' needs," said Jennifer Johnson, Armstrong's corporate communications manager.
Armstrong currently employs 575 workers at the Beverly plant. Job seekers can apply online at www.armstrong.com, or by attending a plant open house on Dec. 15, Jan. 5 or Jan. 19.
The company's plans were announced Thursday during a plant visit by W. Va. Governor Earl Ray Tomblin. "We appreciate having Armstrong Hardwood Flooring in West Virginia for the past 20 years," Tomblin said. "Their plan to hire 145 workers is another example of the confidence companies have in our state and our workforce."
