First Female Wood Floor Installer, Sander & Finisher Certified by NWFA

Kathleen Freeman, a regional saleswoman at Absolute Coatings Inc. (New Rochelle, N.Y.), recently became the first woman to complete both the NWFACP's Installer and Sand & Finisher programs.

Freeman has worked for the past 11 years at Absolute Coatings. Prior to joining the company, she worked for 23 years as a professional wood floor installer, sander and finisher for her family business.

The NWFA launched NWFA Certified Professionals Inc., a standalone corporation, in 2004 to carry forward its certification program. It also offers certifications for commercial inspection, residential inspection and sales counseling. To be eligible for the installation or sand and finish certifications, a person must have at least two years of working experience.
