MP Global Products (Norfolk, Neb.) announced Tuesday that its president and vice president, Alan Collison and Chad Collison, respectively, have each been issued a U.S. patent for the company's QuietWalk underlayment for wood flooring.
The patents were issued on Jan. 1. In a press release the company said, "the patents expand on earlier patents issued to MP Global Products that are directed to its underlayment technology and add to MP Global's protection against counterfeit imitators. The patents are testament to the unique design and superior manufacturing processes …"
The product, which is certified by Scientific Certification Systems (SCS) as being made from 94 percent recycled content, improves acoustic and thermal insulation properties and provides crack resistance. It does not contain VOCs.
