Attendance at this year's Domotex Hannover trade exhibition, which was held Jan. 12-15, fell roughly 11 percent to 40,000 from 2012's tally of 45,000 visitors.
There were 1,350 companies from 60 nations exhibiting during the event; attendees were drawn from about 80 countries. Jochen Köckler, a member of the Deutsche Messe AG managing board, which oversees Domotex, said attendance was better than in 2011, "the most recent comparable staging of the event."
"Our exhibitors succeeded in reaching their international clientele and laying the groundwork for the business year ahead. Domotex thoroughly fulfilled its function as a unique business platform and an idea-giver for the international carpet and floor coverings industry," Köckler said.
At next year's event, scheduled for Jan. 11-14, show planners intend to host another Wood Flooring Summit. "We are already in close communication with the relevant industry associations and market players to ensure we can build on the success achieved [in 2012]," Köckler said.
