U.S. Hardwood Lumber Exports Up 11% in 2012

German publication EUWID reported that the Foreign Agriculture Service, a division of the USDA, found hardwood lumber exports from the U.S. increased 11% in 2012 to 3.1 million cubic meters. Most of the growth was achieved in east and southeast Asia. Lumber deliveries to the 27 European Union states, however, decreased, making the region less and less significant to American lumber exporters.
