Cradle to Cradle Awarding $250,000 for Product Innovation Challenge

The Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute and Make It Right Foundation have issued the Product Innovation Challenge encouraging manufacturers to design safe and environmentally friendly building products for the affordable housing market. Winning products will also be designed for reuse or return to the soil or industry forever after use.

Up to 20 finalists will receive two months of media exposure and promotion for their products leading up to the announcement of the winners. Up to three winners will share the $250,000 cash prize. Winners will also benefit from valuable publicity through blog posts, press releases, partners' websites, social media buzz-up, and a high profile announcement at the 2013 Greenbuild International Conference and Expo.

The deadline for submission is June 30, finalists will be announced Sept. 16, and winners will be announced Nov. 15. Judges include executives from Make It Right, U.S. Green Building Council, Google, First Community Housing, Delta Development Group in the Netherlands and GIGA in China.

More information on the contest and the entry form are available on Cradle to Cradle's website.
