The Lead Renovation, Repair and Painting program (RRP).
After several lawsuits filed by environmental associations, children's health advocacy groups and home builder associations, the EPA is investigating expanding the Lead RRP Program to include all commercial and public buildings, not just residential buildings and buildings frequented by "the same child, under 6 years of age."
The EPA is seeking information regarding the prevalence of lead in commercial buildings, how the buildings are renovated and construction practices that may reduce the hazard of lead paint dust, as well as any information about the costs and other impacts the additional regulations would have on small businesses.
The WFCA will be sending surveys and requests for information to its members over the next two weeks to properly represent its membership at the hearing.
