The Global Forest and Trade Network (GTFN), part of WWF, and TRAFFIC, a wildlife trade monitoring network, will host a series of free seminars for companies exporting forest products to the European Union, the U.S. and Australia to help them reduce the risk of exporting illegal timber.
Training sessions will include information on complying with the EU Timber Regulation, the U.S. Lacey Act and the Australian Illegal Logging Prohibition Act, what importers need in terms of documentation, and organizations and information that can help businesses trade responsibly.
The seminars will be held in St. Petersburg, Russia, on Oct. 9; Nanxun, China, on Oct. 15; Pizhou, China, on Oct. 17; and Surabaya, Indonesia, on Nov. 7. For more information, contact Traci Toy at [email protected] or 60-3-78803940.
